Come to Atlanta a day early on Monday, June 24, 2024, for half-day mobile tours and training sessions that you can mix and match for a tailored experience.

Our mobile tours will showcase comprehensive community development, housing justice and affordable housing strategies. You will encounter firsthand the transformative power of integrated strategies that combine affordable housing with social, economic and environmental considerations to serve residents and strengthen communities.

Our half-day training sessions are designed to provide you with foundational skills in two critical areas poised to impact the future of the field: the strategic application of Artificial Intelligence and the essential steps toward Decarbonization in Multifamily Housing. Perfect for professionals seeking to get hands-on with the work and empowered with basic skills.

We are charging a separate fee for each activity or training, which includes a box lunch.

Trainings

Leveraging Decarbonization Incentives to Support Portfolio & Asset Stabilization
9:00-12:00

Asset managers will play an essential role in the decarbonization and sustainable preservation of existing building portfolios. Housing Partnership Network, National Housing Trust, and Stewards of Affordable Housing for the Future will lead a pre-conference workshop on decarbonizing multi-family housing and supporting portfolio and asset stabilization. Participants will leave the session with a deeper understanding of decarbonization and its benefits, identify property- and portfolio-level opportunities for incentives, develop an action plan that they can implement, and work with a cohort of peers and industry experts to foster continued engagement around the topic.

This pre-conference training is provided free of charge thanks to the Housing Partnership Network, National Housing Trust, and Stewards of Affordable Housing for the Future.

After the class, all registered participants are invited to a networking lunch, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at the Loews Hotel, Overlook West, 14th Floor.

Enjoy the Journey: Navigating AI

Behind-the-wheel training! Jump into Artificial Intelligence with a beginner-friendly session for affordable housing professionals.

Starting with a brief history, we will explain the essentials and the lingo of Artificial Intelligence, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) leading up to Generative Intelligence.

This will be hands-on! Bring your laptop, tablet, or smartphone to maximize your learning experience. We will share links that spotlight quickly accessible tools and technologies that can help asset managers and property managers streamline daily operations.

By participating, you will gain:

  • Hands-on experience with AI applications, allowing you to try out tools in real-time
  • Insights and ideas to inspire your work in affordable housing
  • Access to a curated list of resources, links, apps, and tools to continue your AI journey

Mobile Tours

An Insider's Tour of East Lake Village
9:00-12:00

East Lake is the farthest East neighborhood in the City of Atlanta. Once a suburb of the City of Atlanta in the 1800’s, it is now home to over 15,000 people. You will learn about the advocates who led the charge and partnered with government leaders and the business community to revitalize the historic neighborhood that was neglected for decades. The ecosystem of East Lake Initiative Partners, with a resident-centered focus, provides tools and resources to families to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to thrive. The “community quarterback” for the Partners is the East Lake Foundation, the first Purpose Built Communities neighborhood.

Meet at the Loews Hotel lobby at 9:00 am and will leave promptly at 9:15 am. We will return around 11:30 am. Included in your fee is a networking lunch, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at the Loews Hotel, Overlook West, 14th Floor.
 

Equitable Communities and Affordable Housing - The BeltLine and Westside
1:15pm - 4:00pm

Tour Atlanta’s Historic Westside and BeltLine to learn about the equitable and inclusive housing opportunities that are a cornerstone of these two initiatives.The Atlanta BeltLine is a network of public parks, multi-use trails, transit and affordable housing along a historic 22-mile railroad corridor. Its goals are to enhance mobility, connect intown neighborhoods and improve economic opportunity and sustainability. On this tour we will also see the multifamily affordable housing units managed by Quest Community Development and Columbia Residential along with driving by the area targeted for development by the Westside Future Fund. This nonprofit is committed to helping the Historic Westside neighborhoods revitalize and develop into a community Dr. King would be proud to call home. They have a compassionate approach to neighborhood revitalization that creates a diverse, mixed-income community, improves the quality of life for current and future residents, and elevates the Historic Westside’s unique history and culture

For the tour, meet at the Loews Hotel Lobby at 1:00 pm and the bus will promptly leave at 1:15 pm. We will return around 3:30.
