What is “Seeds of Hope”?

Each year, Kaiser Permanente San Jose and Santa Clara co-present Seeds of Hope, our Cancer Survivors Day Celebration event.

As survivorship is a continuum from diagnosis to beyond, this event provides an opportunity for our members, along with their families, caregivers, and support community, to help our survivors prepare, recover, and celebrate life after cancer treatment as well as reduce risk of recurrence.

Please join us for a fun day for the entire family.

Events include:

  • Seminars on Brain Fitness, Changing Mindset to Change Behavior, Heart Health and Stress, & Nutrition and Metabolic Health, all relating to cancer and its impact.
  • Educational booths focused on lifestyle medicine, cancer screening and prevention, healthy living, and community resources.
  • Activities include healthy eating cooking demonstrations on a budget, Do-It-Yourself toxin free consumer products, hair donations, yoga, massage, and even a Fun Zone for the kids!
  • New This Year -- Preventative Screenings Available.
    • Prescheduled and Walk In appointments for breast and cervical cancer screenings as well as A1c Testing.
    • At home kits available for colorectal screening.

Why should I attend?

What is good for the heart, is good for the brain, is good for preventing cancer and its recurrence. Learn how this all relates through the lens of metabolic health. We will focus on how to:

  • Achieve metabolic health and longevity through nutritional choices.
  • Slow down memory loss from the aging process of cancer and its treatments.
  • Reduce the stress that impacts cardiometabolic health and cancer.
  • Empower lasting behavioral changes with unlocking a change in mindset.

Engage our experts at the educational booths and activities to:

  • Leverage integrative medicine resources for  management and prevention of symptoms.
  • Make your own toxin free consumer products and food with cooking demos, all on a budget.
  • Educate your children now to stop the rise of early onset cancer and related cardiometabolic diseases at the Kids Zone.
  • Donate your hair, move with dance and Tai-Chi, balance and stretch with Yoga, and more.
