About the Event
The 44th Symposium on Pesticide Formulation and Delivery Systems: Charting the Course and Navigating the Challenges of Sustainable Innovation will be held October 8, 2024 - October 10, 2024. The symposium is organized by ASTM Committee E35 on Pesticides, Antimicrobials, and Alternative Control Agents, and will be held at the Renaissance Orlando at Seaworld, Orlando, Florida, USA in conjunction with the standards development meetings of the committee. The language of the symposium will be English.
Objective and Scope
This symposium will provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of formulation and application technologies associated with crop protection products including pesticides, biopesticides, biostimulants, micronutrients, and spray adjuvants. Primary attention will be directed to presentations related to:
- The need for sustainable solutions and the challenges associated with their development and introduction;
- The development of more environmentally friendly adjuvant formulations and related products;
- Global regulatory trends affecting agrochemical formulations and applications and the impact on product development;
- Formulation technologies to improve agrochemical applications and efficacy;
- Application technologies for improved pesticide applications and reduced spray drift;
- Product stewardship, sustainability, and safety;
- The incorporation of AI and related technologies to aid in the design of new products, formulation and application methods or systems;
- Physical and chemical test methods related to crop protection products.
Other topics of interest related to advancing sustainable solutions in agriculture from a product, application and method development perspective.
Who should attend:
This symposium is targeted to individuals, companies and universities involved in the research and development of agricultural, turf and ornamental pesticide, biopesticide, and nutritional products, including the design of new chemistries, formulations, and biologicals. It is also targeted at individuals, companies and universities involved in the research and development of application and delivery systems in the agricultural, turf and ornamental industries. These entities also tend to be the stakeholders and interested parties.
Publication Information
Symposium authors are required to submit their papers for ASTM publication in Selected Technical Papers (STP), an online and printed, peer-reviewed publication for the international scientific and engineering community. STP papers should be full-length technical papers of approximately 10,000 words, significantly contribute to the technical literature, and must include a review of past work in the relevant area and present information of current interest or probe new fields. After the final selection of abstracts has been approved, the ASTM Editorial Office will send authors’ instructions via email, but also can be found by clicking here.
Manuscripts to be peer reviewed for the STP are due online no later than January 10, 2025 at the ASTM Editorial Office. The corresponding author (the author who is the main contact with ASTM Headquarters) will receive a copy of his/her paper in portable document format (PDF). All published authors will have the opportunity to purchase reprints of their papers at a nominal cost. Only those papers submitted by the manuscript due date will be included in the STP.
Please note that all submitted papers are subject to peer review by two independent reviewers.The STP will be submitted to the Library of Congress with an ISBN number and will be reviewed for inclusion in the Web of Science Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI) and Google Scholar.
