2024 WESTERN PROTECTIVE RELAY CONFERENCE
October 21–24, 2024
Spokane Convention Center
Spokane, Washington
The Western Protective Relay Conference (WPRC) is an educational forum for disseminating, discussing and networking on broad and detailed technical aspects of power system protection.
The 2024 program will bring you the latest technologies in power system protection and shared experience from their recent applications in the field. Paper topics range from protection applications and considerations with the introduction of the IBR's to the latest solutions for wildfire mitigation, deployment of digital secondary systems, application of traveling waves, and new communication technologies. The conference covers everything from the traditional focus of generation, transmission, and distribution to new developments in distributed generation, battery energy storage systems, and microgrids. As the electric power grid is rapidly changing, WPRC aims to bring you the latest in how the engineering of protection is adapting to the new environment. Furthermore, WPRC offers a special training track for engineers new to the field featuring lectures on concepts basic to protection and communications used for protection.
Over 500 individuals from around the world typically attend the event. WPRC has hosted attendees from 45 states, Canada, Mexico and 31 other countries.
