The 2024 WPRC will be held at the Spokane Convention Center (334 W Spokane Falls Blvd, Spokane, WA 99201).

The Western Protective Relay Conference (WPRC) is an educational forum for disseminating, discussing and networking on broad and detailed technical aspects of power system protection.

The 2024 program will bring you the latest technologies in power system protection and the experience from their recent applications in the field. The paper topics range from protection applications considerations with the introduction of the IBR's to the latest application of traveling waves and new communications technologies. The applications cover everything from the traditional focus of generation, transmission and distribution to the new developments of distributed generation and microgrids. As the electric power grid is rapidly changing, WPRC aims to bring you the latest in how the engineering of protection is adapting to the new environment.
