Will the Falls Prevention Summit be held in person?
The 2024 Falls Prevention Summit will be held in person on September 9-10, 2024, in Arlington, Virginia. This national summit brings together nationally recognized experts in falls prevention; organizations from the health care, nutrition, aging, and technology sectors; federal and state agencies; falls prevention coalitions; professional associations; corporations; and foundations that have an interest in healthy aging and related fields.
What is the registration fee?
The 2024 Falls Prevention Summit is covered by supplemental funding. There is no registration fee for invtied attendees.
How do I register for the conference?
Sign up to join us from the Falls Prevention event microsite. You will receive emails closer to the conference dates with further details.
I am an Administration for Community Living Chronic Disease Self-Management Education or Falls Prevention grantee. Does the conference meet the requirement for attending a grantee meeting?
Yes, grant funding allocated for the conference can be used to register for the in-person conference. The in-person event satisfies the requirement to attend one grantee meeting per grant year.
How do I book a hotel room?
All in-person conference activities will take place at the Crystal Gateway Marriott, Arlington, Virginia. You can book a room at our group rate of $259 per night for a single or double (plus tax and occupancy fee). Make your hotel reservations by August 19, 2024 to ensure the group rate. The closest airport is Ronald Reagan National Airport. The hotel is just across from the Crystal City Metro Station. Reserve your hotel online.
What will your COVID-19 protocols include?
The National Council on Aging (NCOA) is taking safety at our event seriously. We have implemented the following measures to promote the health and well-being of attendees and staff. All attendes are expected to consider the well-being of themselves and those around them. This includes:
- Self-monitoring for COVID-19 and symptoms of other illnesses
- Being fully vaccinated, including available follow-up boosters as needed
- Respecting the personal space and decisions of other attendees
While we do not intend to require masks or proof of vaccination, we do expect all attendees to make a personal commitment to ensuring they are not putting themselves or others in danger of illness. We are a community and will rely on our community members to ensure the safety of the group. We will follow all local Washington, DC travel advisory guidelines.
NCOA is committed to building an environment of wellness and will be providing hand sanitizer throughout event venues, particularly in high-traffic and food/beverage service areas.
What is the dress code for the in-person conference?
The dress code is business casual. We encourage you to bring a sweater or jacket with you since the meeting rooms are air conditioned and can be chilly.
What meals will be provided?
NCOA will host breakfast and lunch on September 9-10.

The agenda will be published by July 1, 2024.
