Vermont Learning Excursion, April 9-12, 2024

TRAVEL LOGISTICS

The Learning Excursion program begins at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, April 9 with registration at the hotel and a welcome reception and dinner with Vermont hosts. The program ends at 3:00 pm on Friday, April 12. Please register by Thursday, February 29th.

NGLC will reserve your room and cover the cost for room and tax for up to 4 nights. If you wish to extend your stay, we will contact the hotel on your behalf for availability. Individuals will need to present a credit card upon check in for incidentals charges, and if applicable, any additional hotel room nights. 

Stoweflake has a limited number of rooms available before April 9th as the hotel are nearly sold out due to the once in a lifetime eclipse going directly over our heads. Any requests to check in before the 9th will be on a first come first serve basis.

NGLC has negotiated a special rate of $152.00 per night plus tax for our attendees for April 9-12, 2024.

Cancellations must be received 24 hours prior to check-in to avoid a charge for one night plus tax.

Parking

Stoweflake offers complimentary self parking.

Ground Transportation

Participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the Stoweflake. NGLC will provide a shuttle bus for the sessions on April 10-12, 2024 to and from the hotel and school sites.

If you choose to rent a car, this will be at your own expense. You may use grant funds issued to your school or district to cover these costs. Please coordinate with your team lead prior to booking a rental car to ensure available funds.

If you are traveling by air, several companies offer ride share services at Burlington International Airport (BTV). The average ride share cost is $80 - $120 one way.

Air/Rail Travel

Participants are responsible for making their own travel arrangements to and from the Stoweflake. You may use grant funds issued to your school or district to cover these costs. Please coordinate with your team lead prior to booking travel by air/rail to ensure available funds.

The Amtrak Waterbury-Stowe train station in Stowe, 20 minutes from the hotel. Burlington International Airport (BTV) is about 36 miles from the hotel. See more transportation options on Stoweflake's website.

Travel-Related Costs

Attendees are responsible for their own travel-related costs unless noted above. These costs include but are not limited to car rental, air/rail travel, taxi, and/or ride share. You may use grant funds issued to your school or district to cover these costs. Please coordinate with your team lead to ensure available funds.

Attire Suggestions

Suggested attire for the NGLC Learning Excursion is business casual. Please be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring appropriate layers and outerwear as the temperature in the different locations we visit may vary.

The average high in Stowe in April is 39 degrees, and the average low is 25 degrees. The city enjoys an average 13 days of rain in the month of April.
