    ABOUT COSTA RICA

    ABOUT COSTA RICA
What is the time zone in Costa Rica?
Central standard time and they don't observe daylight savings.

What type of currency is accepted in Costa Rica and are there ATMs?
The currency in Costa Rica is the Colon. One Colon is equivalent to USD $.0017. The USD is readily accepted everywhere. There are ATMs, the resort does have one on property in the main lobby.
***Please note the resort is cashless in most areas, a credit card will be taken for incidentals upon check in.

In most Costa Rica shops, you will find that the US dollar is accepted. It’s important to mention that not all places accept bills higher than $ 50, so we recommend bringing $ 1, $ 5, $ 10 and $ 20 bills. You may use cash or credit to pay for products and services in Costa Rica.

    Things to do before traveling:
    • Credit Cards - Be sure to call your credit card company to let them know you'll be traveling
    • Cell Phones - check with your provider on your international plan; these charges add up
    • Make sure to carry anything you can't live a day without in your carry on, i.e. medication, bathing suit, change of clothes. Also, pack Bonine if your prone to motion sickness

You must have your passport - make 2 copies - one to keep with you always, one to keep with someone at home. If you have a new passport this year please make sure to sign it prior to the trip.
