Each Champion will have the opportunity to participate in one of the below activity options.
Please note, activities have different participation caps, so preferences are given on a first-come-first-served basis.
Beneath a canopy of Georgia leaves, the Rock Hawk trails meander through scenic nature and majestic views. The adventure begins by water on a relaxing pontoon cruise (20-minute boat ride) to Rock Hawk Park, followed by a moderate, 3 miles walk/hike (1.25 hours) across the Orange Trail. Looping around the Rock Hawk effigy and viewing tower, this outdoor experience is enhanced by the combination of a lake, a river, wetlands and forests that attract a variety of wildlife. A local guide will lead the group through this outdoor classroom including the 12,000 years of history of the area and Rock Hawk.
Note: This is a nature walk, and considered moderate - not strenuous. The walk will focus on learning about your surroundings and the history of the area of Lake Oconee.
Attire: Dress for the weather, comfortable clothing including pants and t-shirt, are appropriate. Don’t forget a jacket or sweater, as it may be cooler in the Springtime. Guests should wear appropriate foot ware, i.e. sneakers. Sunglasses and a hat are recommended.
