Annual Giving provides the margin of excellence that makes the transformative Princeton experience possible for students today and generations to come. Every, single gift makes an important difference at Princeton. This video features several Princetonians – among many – who share why they participate in Annual Giving.
In 2001, Princeton was the first university in the country to replace loans with grants, which do not have to be repaid. This extraordinary initiative was made possible by the consistent success of Annual Giving.
Annual Giving continues to support Princeton's commitment to access and affordability, including recent enhancements to its financial aid program such as eliminating the student contribution requirement and increasing the annual allowance to cover books and other education-related expenses.
Annual Giving provides vital start-up funds for important new initiatives such as Learning and Education through Service (LENS) so that every Princeton student has the opportunity to participate in a paid summer service internship before graduation. In summer 2024, 500 social impact and service internships were made possible through LENS funding.
Annual Giving is critical to recruiting and retaining teachers and scholars who are leaders in their fields. As new disciplines emerge or opportunities arise to attract leading faculty members to Princeton, flexible Annual Giving funds enable Princeton to move swiftly.
Annual Giving provided a critical contribution to expand student health and wellness programming and staff in University Health Services.
