Renal denervation has been under investigation for a decade for blood pressure control, primarily in the hands of interventional cardiologists. Now that commercial availability may be a reality, referring physicians need to understand the procedure and identify uncontrolled/resistant patients likely to benefit as well as where and how to refer to a qualified center.
