Tournament Rules of Play
The Porsche Golf Cup USA Final 2024 is an invitation-only tournament.
General Information
Single stroke play over 18 holes, Men: white tees, Ladies: red tees
The tournament will be played in accordance with the Official Golf Rules (including Rules of Amateur Status) of the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews. The tournament will be based on the USGA Handicap System. These official association rules are available for viewing from the tournament organizers. The tournament will count towards handicap calculation.
Handicaps
In accordance with the provisions of the USGA Handicap System, the tournament organizers will check the handicaps of the participants and possibly adjust them for the tournament based on the results in the qualification tournaments. Handicaps will be locked for the tournament as of March 24, 2024 12:00 PM EST.
Prizes, classification
The USA national team will consist of four participants who qualify for participation in the World Final. In addition to separate gross scores for women and men, there must also be players in the three-mixed net HCP (Handicap) categories. The winners will then represent the USA at the World Final in the HCP category in which they won. One gross winner will also be grouped into one of the three net HCP categories in accordance with their HCP. The rule for announcements is that gross takes priority over net.
Playoff – In the case of a tie, winner will be determined by U.S.G.A recommendations: The back nine total score, if there is still a tie we will use the last 6 holes, if there is still a tie we will use the last 3 holes, if there still a tie we will use the last hole (#18). Because of the shotgun start, the “last nine holes, last six holes, etc” will be considered to be holes 10-18, 13-18, etc.
Players are only eligible to represent the USA national team in the World Final event one time. If you have attended a World Final event previously you will be ineligible to attend the World Final event in 2024.
Composition of the groups
Groups will be assigned by the tournament organizers.
Distance measuring devices
A player may use a device that allows him to measure or estimate the simple distance, but does not provide any additional information such as gradient, height or club selection that might assist him in choosing a club or assessing the next stroke.
Caddie Rule
Golf caddies may be used for assistance carrying and handling clubs on the course, however they may not provide advice for play during the tournament.
Suspension of play
Tournament organizers will follow the guidance of The Ocean Course officials. If play is suspended during the round and the round cannot be finished, winners will be selected by their relationship to par on their completed holes. The number of holes used in this determination will be the fewest holes completed by anyone in the field. For example, if the least number of completed holes for one group is 5, then the first 5 holes played for every group in the field will be used to determine their score, even if they played more than 5 holes.
Privacy
The participant agrees with their registration for the tournament to the use of their personal data (including name, handicap, name of home club) for creation and publication of start and result lists. The participant and their guest also agrees to the consent of the publication and usage of their name, photograph and video in event related materials.

The tournament organizers reserve the right to make changes if there is an important reason for this.
