Covering the Safe, Emission-Free Handling of SF6 and Alternative Gases

Experience unparalleled learning, professional development, and networking. Well-informed and trained technicians can greatly impact the reduction and elimination of SF6 gas emissions.

In addition to focusing on SF6 Gas handling, the handling Alternative Gases, research and development of new alternatives, regulatory updates, and other related topics will be covered in detail.

Prevent Emissions Through Awareness

Join us on beautiful Clearwater Beach for two full days of learning and networking.

What People Are Saying

"The DILO Gas Management and Insulating Gas Seminars is the best way for users of gas insulated equipment to gain the necessary knowledge to operate and maintain their equipment at peak performance. This is "the" premier event for users of gas insulated equipment to learn and sharpen their knowledge and skills related to SF6 processing and handing, mixed gas processing and handing, strategies for implementation of new technologies and networking with colleagues and subject matter experts." George Becker, P.E. - Principal Substation Engineer, POWER Engineers Inc.

"The relevant and practical content of this years seminar was fantastic. Thanks for your efforts with providing this forum to share your knowledge and provide education."  -Doug Dyck, Manitoba Hydro

"I would like to start by saying thank you for the opportunity to learn, meet and greet with some of the great Minds in the industry. This has been an incredible learning and life experience."  Zach Ramirez,  Lake-Sumter State College

Earn CEUs

DILO is offering Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for this seminar. DILO is accredited by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and offers IACET CEUs for its learning events that comply with the ANSI/IACET Continuing Education and Training Standard.  IACET is recognized internationally as a standard development organization and accrediting body that promotes quality of continuing education and training. You will receive an e-mail after the event with instructions on how to earn CEUs.

Upon successful completion of the course, learners will be awarded 1.5 IACET CEUs and a Certificate from DILO Company, Inc. In order to successfully complete the course, trainees must meet the following requirements:

  • Attend each day of the seminar in its entirety
  • Actively engage and participate in seminar
  • Score 70% or better on written post-course assessment

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Insulating Gas Management Seminar CEU Course, attendees will be able to:

  • Understand potential inventory and reporting challenges and ways in which they can be addressed.
  • Comprehend why many SF6 circuit breakers are moving from monitoring SF6 pressure to monitoring SF6 density.
  • Recognize what components of GIE use PFAS.
  • Recall the characteristics of C4-FN mixtures.
  • Name the dynamics of testing dielectric gases and describe how SF6 reacts to electricity.
  • Cite three (3) different methods for identifying gas leaks.
  • Explain the difference between virgin and reconditioned SF6 gas.
  • Identify how gasses are analyzed and how analyzers work
  • Indicate the most common challenges services technicians face while handling insulation gases (i.e. SF6) in extreme conditions, such as very hot/cold weather, high altitude, and high corrosion environments.
  • Describe federal net-zero emissions drivers and flash x-ray systems and how they pertain to Los Alamos National Laboratory.
  • Determine the proper service equipment and specific gas handling process for various insulating gases.
  • Discuss the drivers behind the search for SF6 alternatives.
  • Compare NOAA and EPA data on SF6 emissions
  • Liken environmental impact of SF6 gas to C4 gas
  • Manage SF6 inventory including cylinder tracking and reporting.
  • Locate climate data on the web and qualitatively understand the influences of wind, heaters and insulation on outdoor equipment.
