Why do I need to submit a commitment response?
When you registered for Team In Training, you committed to raising lifesaving funds in return for your participation in the Hike Grand Canyon event weekend. Your commitment response will let your Team In Training staff know your decision to complete or drop from the season. If you choose to continue the season, you are pledging to LLS to meet your fundraising commitment and participate in your event. For more information, click here.
What is my Fundraising Commitment Amount?
Fundraising amounts vary depending on the program benefits selected. If you would like to change your fundraising commitment benefits and corresponding amount, you may do so in the commitment form. Please note, requests to change Fundraising Commitment Levels are subject to availability. Below are details on the fundraising options available for this event.
- Team In Training event day apparel
- Access to coaching and training
- Professional fundraising support from TNT staff
- Guided 1-day hike, including transportation to and from the trail head
- One complimentary ticket to the Team Rally & Dinner
Fundraising Commitment Options:
- $2,000 - Standard Benefits - No Hotel
- $3,000 - Half cost of hotel room covered for two (2) nights
- $3,500 - Half cost of hotel room covered for three (3) nights
- $4,000 - Hotel room covered for two (2) nights
- $5,000 - Hotel room covered for three (3) nights
When do I need to reach my Fundraising Commitment Amount?
For Hike Grand Canyon, your personal Team In Training fundraising account must contain, at a minimum, the fundraising commitment amount you selected and confirmed during commitment, by 11:59 p.m. PT on Monday, May 6, 2024. In the event your fundraising commitment amount has not been reached by this time, the credit card you securely provide during commitment will be charged for the difference between what you have raised and the fundraising commitment amount you agreed to raise.
What if I can no longer participate with Team In Training?
If you are unable to commit, there will be a decline link in the invitation email for you to click on. This will let us know you'll be discontinuing your participation this season and will save you from receiving reminder emails and calls in the future regarding this event.
What if I commit to Team In Training and later am unable to complete the event?
If you need to discontinue your participation in the Team In Training program after you’ve signed the commitment agreement for any reason other than injury, deployment, or pregnancy, you are still responsible for your full fundraising commitment. If you cannot continue with the program due to injury, deployment, or pregnancy, a doctor's note or copy of military orders must be submitted in order to be released of your obligation to fulfill your fundraising commitment. Funds cannot be deferred towards participation in a future event.
Where has Team In Training contracted rooms?
Visit the Hotel tab for information about the hotel property, including address, room rate, and more.What does it mean if my fundraising level says “Half Cost Covered” for hotel stay?
Teammates who commit to a fundraising level that includes “half cost” of a hotel stay will have two options:
- Select another specific teammate who is also fundraising at a “half cost” level to share a room with. Neither teammate will be charged for the cost of the hotel room if both are fundraising for the same # of nights and select the same check in/out dates. Team In Training will not pair teammates together; both teammates must request one another.
- Buy out the other half of the hotel room to have to yourself or bring guests. Room cost is paid to LLS upon completion of the commitment form.
Teammates who commit to a fundraising level that covers the whole cost of the room will not be charged for their hotel stay (with the exception of possible occupancy fees, see below).
Can I bring guests to stay with me in my hotel room?
Guests in rooms are permitted as long as total occupancy does not exceed the hotel property’s limit.
- If you are fundraising for a whole hotel room OR are fundraising for half and buy out the other half, you may choose to have guests in your room.
- If you are fundraising for half of your hotel stay and choose to share a room with another teammate, both teammate roommates must agree on any guests staying in the room.
Additional fees may be charged for rooms with high occupancy.

What is the Team Rally & Dinner?
The Team Rally & Dinner is a time for teammates, coaches, team captains, honored teammates, and staff to come together and celebrate all that has been accomplished this season for the LLS mission. Awards are presented to top fundraisers and mission stories are shared for inspiration. All fundraising team members receive one complimentary ticket.When and where will it be?

Can guests attend the Team Rally & Dinner?
Yes! When completing your event weekend reservations, you can choose to purchase additional tickets to this function for your guest(s). Prices are $67/adult and $34/child (ages 4-12). You will be required to pay for these when submitting your event weekend reservations.What will be served for dinner?
The dinner will be served buffet style. Below is what is most commonly served at the Team Rally & Dinner. There may be slight variations at your event.
- Two (2) types of pasta (Gluten Free pasta ia available upon request)
- Choice of two (2) sauces - options in prior years have been pesto, meat sauce or marinara sauce
- Chicken breast Salad with choice of two (2) dressings (on the side)
- Vegetable medley
- Assortment of bread
- Chefs choice of light dessert
What happens after I complete the Commitment and Event Details Form?
After you submit your Commitment and Event Details Form, you will receive a confirmation email with your event selections and commitment response.
How can I change my event weekend selections after I have submitted my selections?
To make changes to your reservation, please follow these steps:- Locate your commitment confirmation email from Team In Training.
- At the bottom of the email, click on the link to make changes
- When prompted, enter your last name and the email address.
- Make your changes and submit the form.
What are the deadlines for making changes to my event weekend selections?
You will have until the dates listed below to make changes to your selections. After the deadline, the system will lock and will be unable to accept changes as LLS will be finalizing reservations with vendors. No refunds will be issued for purchased items after these deadlines. Can I drive myself or get a ride to the park on hike day?
All teammates are required to ride the provided group transportation on hike day. Shuttles will depart from the team hotel (Squire Resort in Tusayan) to take teammates into the park and then bring all teammates back to the team hotel afterwards. There is free parking at the hotel for anyone not staying there. Teammates cannot drive themselves into the park and meet their group at the trailhead. Only fundraising teammates can be on the team shuttles.Can a friend or family member join me on my hike?
Our guided hike groups are exclusive to those who are officially registered with Team In Training as fundraising teammates. Friends and family of teammates may not join the group on the trails (unless they are also fundraising teammates).
