Did you know two icons in their respective industries rolled off the assembly line in 1963?  The Porsche 911 and the movie “The Birds” by Alfred Hitchcock have that in common!

This scenic tour heads north and goes around Petaluma before turning west towards the California/Pacific coastline. Along this route we will pass some of the lushest countryside and hamlets between the Sonoma Valley and the ocean, one of which is Valley Ford, where the local hotel was used in “The Birds”. The tour will take a short detour through the small town of Bodega to see the church and schoolhouse from the movie. After that we will continue to Bodega Bay for a rest stop.

From Bodega Bay the tour will travel along some 35 miles of the scenic Pacific coast via CA-1, also known as the Shoreline/Coast Highway. About half way, we’ll veer off to the coastal hills so we can loop back onto the coast and then head inland along the Russian River. The tour concludes with a Mexican buffet lunch at the Northwood Golf Club. If you enjoy a great drive through the Pacific coastline, farmlands, vineyards, seaside towns, and even seeing some movie history, don’t miss out on this tour!
