OVERVIEW

While molecular testing has long played a key role in guiding treatment decisions for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), this process has grown increasingly complex in recent years. Recent advancements in targeted therapies for NSCLC have driven the need for improved patient assessment to facilitate early and accurate identification of patients with actionable mutations. Indeed, a multidisciplinary approach is needed to select the appropriate diagnostic procedure for tissue sampling and to guide histologic and cytologic assessment. In this symposium, a pathologist, oncologist, and interventionalist will discuss optimal ways for the full team to collaborate together in order to conduct optimized and comprehensive molecular profiling for patients with NSCLC.
