OVERVIEW
Is it just an itch or something more? Nearly 40% of patients on dialysis in the United States suffer from chronic kidney disease-associated pruritus (CKD-aP), which is described as daily or near daily occurrence of itch in the absence of primary dermatologic findings. CKD-aP is often dismissed by both clinicians and patients, but it can have significant impact on patient quality of life (QoL) such as depression, poor sleep quality, and poor social functioning. With more diagnostic tools and treatment options available, CKD-aP management is changing and requires a team-based approach. In this webinar series, experts will share best practices from their respective institutions on diagnosis, team management, and treatment, as well as tips on patient education, with the ultimate goal of improving outcomes for patients with CKD-aP.
