VOTING DELEGATES

In accordance with the membership rules, current year memberships are accepted and credited for the current membership year through the last state office business day in October, which this year is Tuesday, October 31. After that date, the state office will advise you of the number of voting delegates your county will be entitled to send to the annual meeting.

The voting delegate form must be completed, printed, then signed by the county president. It needs to be received at the state office no later than close of business November 22.

Please pre-register your voting delegates and alternates for the annual meeting.

Pre-registration closes at 12 Noon (ET), November 22, 2023.

The voting delegate rules require that an excerpt of the minutes of the county board meeting or county annual meeting dealing with the election of voting delegates be attached to the list of voting delegates. Please click here for sample language for the motions to elect voting delegates and alternates, as well as chair and vice chair of the delegates. Please make sure to submit this information with the delegate form.

Please click here to print proxy forms. Any county Farm Bureau planning to use proxies must still elect the number of voting delegates your county is entitled to send to the annual meeting, then each delegate must sign a proxy and give it to a voting delegate from your county who will be attending the annual meeting. These proxies must be brought to the annual meeting by the delegates who will be voting them. At least one delegate from your county must attend the annual meeting in order for any proxies to be used. Under the rules, you cannot give proxies to anyone who is not a member of your county Farm Bureau, and under a 1982 amendment to the bylaws, a voting delegate present may cast no more than four proxy votes. Please DO NOT return signed proxy forms to the state office, but have them brought to the annual meeting by the delegate authorized to vote the proxy.
