About the Paintings

Clive Elliott KC describes himself as a serial dabbler in the arts with an interest in painting and writing. He is also a social commentator and TEDx speaker, with an interest in writing, poetry, and public speaking. In his “day job”, Clive is a King’s counsel, patent attorney and arbitrator. Clive is a past president of the New Zealand Bar Association | Ngā Ahorangi Motuhake o te Ture.
The subjects in these paintings are two young girls, Amelie and Zara, who are the daughters of Clive's close friends. The paintings are based on photos taken by their mother at Muriwai Beach in 2022. They have since been gifted to Amelie and Zara.
