Peg is the nurse navigator for the Multiple Myeloma/Amyloid and Head and Neck service lines at the Abramson Cancer Center, University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Peg earned her BSN form Holy Family University and her MHA from Saint Joseph’s University. She has over 40 years of oncology experience with a focus on nurse navigation for the past 12 years. She is a member of the AONN Navigation conference planning committee and is on the AONN+ certification team. She has held positions as an oncology manager, director and educator in both community hospitals and academic medical centers. She is certified in oncology nursing. Nursing management and is a certified oncology nurse navigator. She has lectured and published on the local and national levels. Peg has been active in ONS for 30 years working on various projects and committees. She serves as a director at large for the Philadelphia ONS chapter.

Joyce Mitchell, MSW, LSW
Oncology Social Worker
Abramson Cancer Center, Penn Medicine
Joyce Mitchell is a licensed clinical social worker with 30 years plus experience working in medical settings for the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania/ Penn Medicine Health System. For the past 14 years, she has been working with the hematologic oncology patient population at the Abramson Cancer Center as part of an interdisciplinary team of oncologists, nurse navigators, nurse practitioners, and dieticians to help educate patients about blood cancers. She coordinates a bi-annual Penn Cancer Net-Work Meeting for oncology social workers and is an active member of Penn Medicine’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Core Council.
