16th International Symposium on Flammability and Sensitivity of Materials in Oxygen-Enriched Atmospheres
Date: October 23, 2024 - October 24, 2024
Event Location: Grandior Hotel Prague, Prague, Czech Republic
Organized by: ASTM Committee G04 on Compatibility and Sensitivity of Materials in Oxygen Enriched Atmospheres
About the Event
The 16th International Symposium on Flammability and Sensitivity of Materials in Oxygen-Enriched Atmospheres will be held October 23, 2024 - October 24, 2024. The symposium is organized by ASTM Committee G04 on Compatibility and Sensitivity of Materials in Oxygen Enriched Atmospheres, and will be held at the Grandior Hotel Prague, Prague, Czech Republic in conjunction with the standards development meetings of the committee. The language of the symposium will be English.
Objective and Scope
The purpose of this symposium is to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of peer-reviewed papers on topics related to fire hazards in oxygen, oxygen-enriched environments, and other oxidizer systems.
Topics for this symposium may include but not limited to:
- Flammability of Materials in Oxygen and Oxygen-Enriched Environments
- Combustion Rates of Materials in Oxygen and Oxygen-Enriched Environments
- Toxicity of Combustion Products in Oxygen Fires
- Flammability of Materials in non-Oxygen Oxidizer Environments
- Mathematical Modeling of Combustion Processes in Oxygen-Enriched Environments
- New Test Methods to Define Material Safety for Use in Oxygen Environments
Who Should Attend
This symposium will be attended by scientists and engineers who are conducting research in oxygen, oxygen-enriched and other oxidizer systems. This has historically included officials of the United States Government, officials of various European Governments, and scientists from universities and research institutions. This symposium will also be attended by private manufacturing companies who must keep informed of all the latest research so that they can provide a safe product to their customers.
Publication Information
Symposium authors are required to submit their papers for ASTM publication in Selected Technical Papers (STP), an online and printed, peer-reviewed publication for the international scientific and engineering community. STP papers should be full-length technical papers of approximately 10,000 words, significantly contribute to the technical literature, and must include a review of past work in the relevant area and present information of current interest or probe new fields. After the final selection of abstracts has been approved, the ASTM Editorial Office will send authors’ instructions via email, but also can be found by clicking here.
Manuscripts to be peer reviewed for the STP are due online no later than April 26, 2024 at the ASTM Editorial Office. The corresponding author (the author who is the main contact with ASTM Headquarters) will receive a copy of his/her paper in portable document format (PDF). All published authors will have the opportunity to purchase reprints of their papers at a nominal cost. Only those papers submitted by the manuscript due date will be included in the STP. Please note that all submitted papers are subject to peer review by two independent reviewers.
The STP will be submitted to the Library of Congress with an ISBN number and will be reviewed for inclusion in the Web of Science Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI) and Google Scholar.
Technical Program
A technical program (presentation times, paper titles, and presenters’ names) will be posted on the ASTM website by mid-Summer 2024.
Registration
Registration opens approximately 10 weeks before the start of the symposium.
