COVID-19 Questions - In person attendees ONLY

Q: Do I have to wear a mask at the conference?

A: In solidarity for our immunocompromised patients and their caregivers, LLS requests that all attendees wear a mask indoors, except while eating or drinking.

Q: Besides requesting attendees wear a mask, what are other COVID precautions LLS are taking?

A: We are implementing a comfort zone coloring system. Attendees will place a colored dot on their name badge indicating how comfortable they are with others getting close to them. Red means, please do not engage with me without a mask, keep 6+ feet distance at all times; Yellow meaning, I am ok with close conversations with masks on; Green meaning, I am ok with physical contact and close conversations with masks on. LLS will also be mindful by making sure we are providing ample spacing between attendees during our sessions.

Q: Where can I learn more about COVID information and resources for blood cancer patients?

A: Latest Information and Resources from LLS on COVID-19 (https://www.lls.org/covid-19-resources)

Q: I am not comfortable attending an in-person event. Are there other options available for education?

A: This event also has a virtual component; on the registration site you will have the option to select if you are attending virtually or in-person. Patients who are not comfortable attending in-person can also find virtual education opportunities at www.lls.org/programs

Respect & Protect Blood Cancer Patients Statement
LLS has worked tirelessly to help blood cancer patients and survivors make informed choices to protect themselves from the profound effects of COVID-19 on their cancer care and daily lives. As the country moves toward “business as usual,” LLS encourages everyone to respect and protect each other. RESPECT and support anyone’s decision to continue to wear a mask and social distance. You never know if the person next to you is taking extra precautions to protect themselves or their loved ones. PROTECT blood cancer patients and others who are immunocompromised. We can do this by encouraging these individuals (and everyone around them) to get vaccinated and speak to their doctor about additional precautions they should take.
