We are able to offer full and partial scholarships to participants who demonstrate both artisitic excellence, as well as financial need. At least four full scholarships will be awarded, with at least one full scholarship in each of the four disciplines -- Art, Dance, Drama, and Music. All scholarship applicants will receive at least a partial scholarship award.
Eligible scholarship applicants should demonstrate the following:
Please read the scholarship guidelines below and complete the online Scholarship Application to apply. Incomplete and late applications will not be considered, no exceptions. Recipients will be notified via email by May 26, 2023.
To be considered to receive a Summer Academies in the Arts Scholarship, students must submit the following items:
All applications will be reviewed, according to artisitic discipline, by faculty and/or staff of the Claire Trevor School of the Arts. Applications will be considered based on artistic excellence, academic standing, personal and professional goals, and financial need. We use the financial aid chart below to assess financial need. All scholarship applicants will receive at least a partial scholarship award based on the chart.
Scholarship amounts may be used to offset registration costs only. Once scholarship amounts have been awarded, students will be able to formally register online, and if needed, pay the balance of their registration. A spot will be reserved in the applicant's Academy of interest in the meantime. Scholarships are subject to course enrollment and, though we do not anticipate needing to take such action, may be cancelled should enrollment not be sufficient.
Thank you to the Assistance League of Irvine, Pacific Life Foundation, and the Richard B. Siegel Foundation for their support for the Summer Academies in the Arts scholarships!
Applications must be completed and submitted no later than May 19, 2023 at 8:00am (PDT). Incomplete applications will not be considered. Scholarships will be awarded to recipients via email by May 26th. Should there be a delay in the selection process, candidates will be notified via email. All scholarship applicants will be reserved a registration spot in their selected Academy in the meantime.

These last several years have been difficult for all of us in many ways. The arts have been hit particularly hard because so much of the work we do requires physical closeness and interaction. While prioritizing the health and safety of our participants, instructors, and staff, we also need to support our community of artists.
The Summer Academies in the Arts program provides advanced young artists the tools they will need as they develop their technical and artistic skills in preparation for applications and audition material for college and career pursuits. It also provides much needed employment for our team of instructors ⎼ practicing artists themselves.
If you are able, please consider making a gift of any amount to support the Summer Academies in the Arts program. Your contribution will make a significant impact by supporting the artists who make it possible.
The mission of Outreach at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts (CTSA) is to connect CTSA with the community in ways that transform lives.
We partner with local schools and community organizations to share the talents and knowledge of our students, faculty, and staff with people of all ages. Composed of several community-minded programs, we introduce children to the arts, prepare middle and high school students for the next step in their arts education, and provide adults with active experiential immersion in the arts to help enrich lives. CTSA’s Outreach programs support the mission of the school as conduits for community engagement, fostering leadership both in the young artists who participate in them, and in the CTSA students and faculty who facilitate them.
