Roundtable Discussion: Realigning Work Priorities to Mitigate Moral Distress

 

ABSTRACT

Facilitated by a moderator and panelists representing the scope of multisite case management practice, audience members are invited to share best practices and solutions from their practice sites. Achieving balance while maintaining a commitment to meet role performance expectations, addressing patient and community needs and complying with standards and regulations leads to burnout and moral distress among health care professionals.  This interactive session examines sources of distress and uses case examples to explore the application of various strategies.

Learning objectives

1. Discuss strategies to support and retain existing staff while experiencing workforce shortages.

2. Demonstrate ways to stratify and prioritize frontline care management responsibilities when experiencing workforce shortages.

3. Identify resources and interventions to employ to mitigate moral distress and burnout in the context of workforce shortages.
