Conference Schedule

The Cornell Agricultural Education Outreach staff, NYAAE Executive Council, and the New York State Education Department invite you to the 2023 Professional Development Conference for Agricultural Educators at the Oswegatchie Educational Center in Croghan, NY from Monday, June 19 through Thursday, June 22, 2023. The goal of the annual professional development conference is to enhance the quality of instructional programs for secondary agricultural educators through in-service education with activity based workshops that address the needs of our constantly changing agricultural and agriscience programs. Sessions are designed to both raise the scientific rigor of agricultural courses and provide middle, high, and postsecondary educators with new technologies and resources for their classrooms. This high-quality professional development opportunity meets the Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) criteria pursuant to Section 80-6 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education. By attending this conference each teacher will receive more than 20 professional development hours.

Conference Highlights

Every year, the annual NYAAE Conference offers agricultural educators at all stages of their career the opportunity to learn, grow, and network with peers from across the state. Educators get to participate in engaging, hands-on workshops that cover a wide range of topics within the Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (AFNR) pathways, pedigogy skills, work life balance, and more. NYAAE also holds their annual business meeting and awards banquet during this yearly event where members get to be involved in the future of our organization and celebrate their peers. 
 

Hands on Workshops

Our workshops offer teachers the opportunity to learn while doing whether its making cheese, learning handling techniques, or putting together floral arrangements we strive to ensure our participants are engaged in their sessions.

Every year, NYAAE has the opportunity to celebrate our teachers' successes together. From the Ideas Unlimited Award to the Lifetime Acheivement Award, we love the opportunity to celebrate our members!
