All activities are exclusive to Wesco EDGE Advantage guests and include everything you need, plus round-trip transportation to and from the resort, all applicable taxes, fees, and gratuities. Space is limited, and availability is based on a first-come, first-served basis. Times will be confirmed upon your arrival at the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Golf & Beach Resort. 

Golf at the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Ocean Course
9:00 – 11:20 a.m. Tee times

Calling all golf aficionados!  Award-winning golf course architects Tom and George Fazio took into account the unique characteristics of the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar’s location when designing the spectacular Ocean Course. This 6,716-yard course is nestled between the El Yunque Mountains and the majestic Atlantic Ocean. Grab your golf clubs and prepare for a formidable and impressive game around every corner.  Fore!

Attire: Collared shirts, long pants, or Bermuda shorts are required. No metal spikes.

ATV Adventure in the Countryside
7:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Enjoy an exhilarating four track ride that runs through this incredible 2,200-acre ranch around magnificent countryside which is the largest mangrove forest reserve in Puerto Rico – a true natural masterpiece with spectacular scenery of Puerto Rico’s north coast. Riders will roam through table-top ranges for beautiful panoramic island views, and tour alongside tropical forests before stopping to explore an intriguing cave with authentic carvings from Taino Indians.

The adventure begins as riders follow experienced bilingual guides along outlined tracks through our trailed playground! The participants will climb hills, negotiate tight corners, roam through rugged terrain, and much more. Individual riders will take it all at their own speed and within their own capabilities. So, whether you are an experienced ATV enthusiast or a first-time rider, you can be sure of a thrilling experience! A bottle of water is included on this activity.

Attire: Prepare to get dusty! Casual clothing, closed-toed shoes, sunscreen, and sunglasses are recommended. Helmets will be provided.

Catamaran Snorkel Sail
8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Set sail to a tranquil uninhabited isle for a day of relaxation and fun. While aboard, you will have some spectacular views of the Palominito islands, as well as other small islands, and the Cabezas de San Juan lighthouse. Once the boat has landed on the beach, you can swim and snorkel in the crystal-clear water, or simply kick-back, stretch out, and soak up the sun while sipping on a cool beverage. Lunch, beer, rum punch, soft drinks, and water are all included.

Attire: Bathing suit, shorts and a t-shirt, rubber sole shoes, hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are recommended.

Mini Boat Adventure with Snorkeling
8:15 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.

Grab your Captain’s hat and take control of your own 13’ inflatable boat where you’ll cruise across the beautiful crystal-clear waters of Eastern Puerto Rico! With a certified guide leading your way, you’ll experience San Juan’s captivating landscapes and stunning uninhabited islands with extraordinary white sand beaches. If operating your boat across the San Juan Bay isn’t thrilling enough, you’ll ride along the “La Cordillera” Cays Nature Reserve for an unforgettable snorkeling excursion.

Attire: Bathing suit, shorts and a t-shirt, water shoes, hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are recommended.

Barrilito Mixology Experience
Timeslot 1: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Since 1880, Ron del Barrilito has been made in the same way at Hacienda Santa Ana in Bayamón. This experience will take you back in time to show you how the world’s finest sipping rum has been made through the years. You’ll see the Hacienda’s several historical landmarks, including a beautifully preserved mansion and windmill dating all the way back to the early nineteenth century. You’ll learn about the Fernández family who created Ron del Barrilito, along with the history and unique craftsmanship of Ron del Barrilito, the oldest Puerto Rican rum, still made in the same place and in the same way since 1880. And, last but not least, you’ll get an in-depth walk through along the age-old process that makes Ron del Barrilito one of a kind.

If you plan on grabbing a couple of bottles of world-renowned rum for your home bar, this mixology experience is a must. Some of the island’s best bartenders will show you the basics of making bar-quality cocktails in your own home. We’ll use Ron del Barrilito to craft some of today’s most elegant drinks, such as the Old Fashioned, Presidente, and the Hemingway Daiquiri. By the end of the class, you’ll be able to easily impress your guests with your bartending moves at your next party or get-together.

Rainforest Tour with Hike on Angelito Trail
9:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.

El Yunque is the 3500’ peak within Puerto Rico’s Caribbean National Forest, which covers 28,000 acres and contains 75% of the virgin forests left in Puerto Rico. The entire area is a bird sanctuary and holds claim as the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System. Thanks to receiving 100 billion gallons of rain per year, the forest can sustain 250 species of trees, 50 types of ferns, and as many as 20 varieties of wild orchids.

Your visit includes a stop at El Portal, the newly renovated Visitor’s Center, which just reopened after its four-year closure due to Hurricane Maria, and offers a rare view of the Puerto Rican parrot, currently an endangered species. Your visit to El Yunque will include a stop at Yokahú Tower which commands a view of the entire northeast coast of Puerto Rico, and beautiful Coca Falls for a photo you will want to frame!

You’ll also have the opportunity to hike Angelitos Trail- a relatively easy hike, with time at a natural swimming hole before the return hike to the vehicle.

Attire: Comfortable clothing including pants or shorts and a t-shirt or tank top are appropriate. Guests must wear closed-toe shoes, such as sneakers or hiking boots. Open-toed shoes and flip-flops are not permitted.

Barrilito Rum Tasting Experience

City Tour of Old San Juan 
9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Walk through the blue-black glazed cobblestones of Old San Juan, where you’ll see colorful buildings and beautiful 17th century Spanish ironwork on restored homes. Explore historical sites such as “Puerta de San Juan” (Door of San Juan); Fort San Cristobal, built by the Spaniards to expand San Juan’s fortification system, La Rogativa sculpture, and Cristo Chapel. As you discover the area, your guide will help you gain new insight into Puerto Rican culture. Old San Juan is also home to interesting art galleries, shops, and boutiques that you will have time to peruse.

Attire: Comfortable clothing including pants or shorts and a t-shirt or tank top are appropriate. Portions of this tour may be in the sun, so a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen would be helpful. Remember, you’ll be walking through cobblestone streets so comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended.
