Parking

Parking permits are required on the UC San Diego campus seven days a week: Monday-Friday from 7:00am to 11:00pm, and Saturday-Sunday from 10:30am to 11:00pm.

• Permits may be purchased online through the Transportation & Parking Services Website beginning June 19th 2023 - https://transportation.ucsd.edu/visit/visitor/conference.html or via the ParkMobile App.
• Visiting UC faculty and staff who hold annual permits at their home campuses are eligible for up to 5 consecutive days of complimentary parking at UC San Diego. Visit for more details: https://transportation.ucsd.edu/visit/visitor/reciprocity.html
• The most convenient parking location is the Pangea parking structure located on Pangea Drive and Scholars Drive N. 
  • Alternatively, Hopkins parking structure is also available.
  • Both parking locations offer spaces in "B" (Green), "S" (Yellow), and "V" (White) spaces. 
• Parking legally is the attendee’s responsibility. The penalty for an improperly parked car is at least $65 per day. We cannot be held responsible for citations issued for parking in an incorrect space or improperly displaying your permit.
• Due to challenges with parking on-campus, we do advise using other methods such as some noted below if possible.

Transportation

Ride share services are recommended if you chose not to drive onto campus.

General logistics during the institute

Food: 
Light refreshments and lunch will be provided throughout the three days to all attendees along with a Tuesday evening reception. 

Laptop Required: 
The CIML Summer Institute is designed as hand-on program and does require that you bring a laptop with administrative privileges and wireless connectivity. Wireless is available to all attendees through UC San Diego GUEST network.

Remote participation:
Remote participation is not available.

Room & Board Scholarship

SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS: ON-CAMPUS ROOM & BOARD (R&B)
Housing accommodations for R & B Scholarship participants is offered through UC San Diego Guest Housing.

• All check-ins and check-outs will take place at the Hospitality Information Desk located in Sixth College/North Torrey Pines Living Learning. This is located in the South East corner of the Tapestry Building, across from Sixth Market.
  • Check-in will be on Monday, June 26 after 4:00 p.m.
  • Check out will be on Friday, June 30 by 11:00 a.m
