The following SWS Sections are rewarding travel grants to students to attend the Annual Meeting. Find details to apply for the awards below:
The South Atlantic Chapter of the SWS will be awarding four Student Travel Awards of $500 to attend the 2023 Annual Meeting in person. At least one of these awards will be issued to a student in a historically black college or university. If there are no applicants from an HBCU, the final award will be issued to a non-HBCU applicant.

The Wildlife Section of the Society of Wetland Scientists (SWS) is announcing the availability of a Student Travel Award. The Wildlife Section will pay registration for the winner and provide $1,000 to one student to attend the 2023 Annual Meeting in person.

The Global Change Ecology Section of the SWS will be awarding three Student Travel Awards of $500 to attend the 2023 Annual Meeting in person.

Five competitive travel grants ($500 each) are available which can be used to defray any kind of expenses associated with attending the SWS Annual Meeting (i.e., travel, accommodations, meals).
Eligible applicants are graduate and undergraduate students registered at an institution in the NCC region (ND, SD, NE, MN, IA, WI, IL, MI, IN, and OH) who will be presenting a poster or talk on their research results at the SWS 2023 Annual Meeting in Spokane, WA. Applicants must have submitted an abstract for the Annual Meeting, and be members in good standing of SWS or have applied for a free or discounted membership.
To apply, please email Karen Mangan at Karen_mangan@fws.gov, Chair, NCC Awards Committee by April 1, 2023 with the title and abstract (250 words or less) of your poster or talk, a short essay (one or two paragraphs) on why you wish to attend this meeting and how you will benefit from it, and a statement that you will have sufficient funds, if needed, to cover any additional costs to attend the meeting. Applicants will be judged on the scientific merit of their abstracts and on their short essays.
