Ashley Giacobbi is an oncology certified Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist who joined The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as a Clinical Trial Nurse Navigator in September of 2019. She resides in Central New York and has over 15 years of nursing experience providing care for patients with hematologic malignancies and solid tumors both in the hospital and outpatient settings. Ashley also has experience as a Clinical Research Nurse in Stem Cell Transplantation and as a Nurse Manager of an academic outpatient Cancer Center. She serves on the board of her local Oncology Nursing Society Chapter. As a navigator in the Clinical Trial Support Center, Ashley is able to draw upon experience gained in prior roles to assist patients and caregivers throughout the continuum of their diagnosis and treatment in identifying clinical trials and when needed, eliminating the barriers to clinical trial enrollment through personalized guidance, education, and support.
Dr. Anita Kumar is a medical oncologist whose practice is devoted to caring for people with lymphoma. She has clinical expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of both Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma and her research focus is on mantle cell lymphoma. Dr. Kumar works closely with a team of lymphoma experts from many different departments who are dedicated to providing personalized and compassionate care to patients in her care.
Dr. Kumar received her education from Northwestern University and did her medical oncology fellowship and internal medicine residency at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Brigham and Women’s Hospital respectively. She is the lead investigator or co-investigator of several clinical trials that focus on non-Hodgkin lymphoma and has contributed to countless research and publications on this type of lymphoma.
