What to Expect: Our Health & Safety Plan
We look forward to seeing you at 2023 Mid-year Training. We are excited to help you strengthen your leadership skills and continue to build relationships with peers around the globe.
Toastmasters International’s priority is to keep everyone safe. Our team is committed to creating event experiences where attendees and staff can safely come together. 2023 Mid-year Training will be in person and has been planned with your health and safety in mind. We are working closely with our vendors, in addition to federal, state, and local authorities to stay in accordance with health and safety advice and guidelines.
Toastmasters understands that decisions concerning health and risk are personal. We are committed to implementing conscious and intentional measures to promote healthy best practices. Below we have aggregated current country and local health measures in place, and how you will play a role in moving the Toastmasters community forward safely.
Before You Arrive
- Complete a self-assessment, and verify you are symptom-free. If you feel sick, you are asked not to travel to the event. In the event you are unable to attend, District leaders are encouraged to to complete the Pre-work and review training materials with their Region Advisor and other members of their District team who were able to attend.
- If traveling by air, determine if your airline requires any health information, testing, or other documents and comply with all necessary requirements.
- Review the country’s website that you will be traveling to regularly to understand the local travel advisories and requirements as information can change. Please select the appropriate links below to review more information.
- We will continue to monitor guidelines with local health officials and will notify attendees as needed.
During 2023 Mid-year Training
- We ask that you fully comply with the applicable state, country, CDC, and WHO COVID-19 health and safety measures and protocols while in attendance at Mid-year Training.
- Complete a daily self-assessment from a trusted source, and verify you are symptom-free. If you feel sick, please stay home or in your hotel room.
- Social distancing requirements will be in compliance with our partnering hotels as well as local/state/federal guidelines.
- Proof of vaccination will not be required to enter the event and we encourage all participants to follow state and federal guidelines with respect to COVID-19. Please note that airlines may require proof of vaccination prior to boarding.
- Please follow all recommended Health & Safety Measures including washing your hands often, covering your cough or sneeze, and not attend sessions if you are feeling sick. We will not be conducting temperature checks at the event.
- At this time, none of the hotels Toastmasters International has partnered with are requiring masks for guests or attendees; however, you may choose to wear a mask during training if you prefer.
- If you become sick on-site, you are requested to remain in your hotel room and contact the hotel front desk. In the event that you are unable to attend or must leave early, please contact meetingplanning@toastmasters.org.
