About the ConferenceHarbors to Headwaters: United Resilience Through Innovative Design and Collaboration
Harnessing the power of collaboration, planning, and design to protect habitats and strengthen communities
From coastal harbors to inland headwaters, water connects us—shaping our landscapes, communities, and future. Harbors to Headwaters is a cross-disciplinary conference that brings together landscape architects, planners, designers, scientists, community leaders, and policymakers to explore how collaborative, place-based solutions can address the complex challenges facing the region, the Delmarva peninsula, and beyond.
This conference emphasizes the integration of land use, ecological restoration, and climate adaptation strategies to build resilient, equitable, and thriving communities. Through interactive workshops, case study presentations, and field-based sessions, participants will engage in practical, inspiring discussions on how to align planning, design, and stewardship across sectors, jurisdictions, and geographies—from tidal estuaries to upland watersheds.
Together, we’ll examine how to respond to environmental stressors, guide responsible growth, protect biodiversity, and elevate the voices of communities in decision-making.
We look forward to seeing you in Dewey Beach in April.
