Dominic is passionate about empowering people of all backgrounds to achieve their full potential through vocational learning; the opportunities that are unlocked through better usage of digital skills; and the technologies that underpin both of these areas.
Dominic co-founded and led digital training provider Intequal (previously IT Skills Management Company). Focussing on digital apprenticeships, the business achieved strong revenue and EBITDA growth between FY18 and FY20 which resulted in a successful sale to Lifetime Training Group in September 2021. Intequal achieved a ‘Good’ at its first Ofsted inspection in February 2020 and boasted a 100% apprentice pass rate at EPAO at time of sale.
As Chair of Trustees at Ufi VocTech Trust, Dominic helps to improve vocational skills in the UK’s workforce by funding digital solutions for vocational learning. He is especially proud of helping develop Ufi Ventures, its Venture Investment fund that invests between £75k and £1m in early-stage companies that are building digital technologies to give people and businesses the skills needed for work, now and in the future.
As an independent consultant, he has helped positively shape, develop and implement apprenticeship and digital skills policy over recent years. From 2008 to 2020, Dominic developed and led Microsoft’s Partner Apprenticeship Program which leveraged Microsoft’s brand, Partner ecosystem and training delivery network to catalyse change in digital apprenticeships. He continues to work with stakeholders across the digital skills ecosystem which includes being a member of the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education’s (IfATE) Digital Route Panel and City & Guilds Industry Skills Board as well as previously being a member of Department for Education’s Apprenticeships Stakeholder Board.
Finally, he is also co-founder of Franklin Apprenticeships, a US based consulting firm focused on building the infrastructure to support a successful competency-based apprenticeship eco-system in America.
