OVERVIEW

This live, interactive, case-based symposium will increase awareness of disparities in the management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) among patients of different racial and ethnic groups residing in urban, suburban, and rural settings. An expert panel of clinicians will use patient cases to illustrate key issues and present the latest evidence in risk stratification, treat-to-target principles, patient-reported outcomes, individualizing treatment, and shared decision-making. Faculty will also discuss strategies for increasing access to culturally competent care among diverse IBD patient groups.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This activity is intended for gastroenterologists, primary care physicians, obstetricians and gynecologists, nurses, and other healthcare providers (HCPs) who treat patients with IBD.

GOAL STATEMENT

The goal of this activity is that learners will be better able to employ patient-centric management of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), raise awareness on the disparities in IBD care amongst racial and ethnic groups, and engage in shared decision-making to improve outcomes.
