Dr. Victor Paquet is Professor and Chair of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University at Buffalo. His research focuses on the development and evaluation of systems that improve the health, safety and abilities of people in environments ranging from the workplace to the home. His work includes ergonomics intervention studies designed to reduce musculoskeletal injury risk among workers in construction, manufacturing and healthcare settings, evaluation of material handling requirements in industry, use of digital human modeling to improve home environments and transportation systems for those who have mobility impairments, and testing of products and environments that assist older adults in activities of daily living. These activities have been funded by U.S. government sponsors such as the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), National Institute for Disability Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR), the United States Access Board, United States Department of Transportation (DOT) and private industry. He served on the College Industry Council on Material Handling Education (CICMHE) from 2018-2021.
