Natalie Cherbaka

Natalie Cherbaka is an Associate Collegiate Professor in the Grado Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech; she is affiliated with the Honors College and the Calhoun Honors Discovery Program. Natalie teaches a variety of courses in facilities planning, logistics, manufacturing, production systems, and management, including coordinating the senior design capstone program. At the university level, Natalie is a member of the founding teams that designed, and are now executing, interdisciplinary project-based learning in the College of Engineering and the Calhoun Honors Discovery Program. Her research interests are in project-based learning and 5G supply chain integration. Prior to Virginia Tech, Natalie’s roles were in curriculum development for Engineering Online at North Carolina State University, manufacturing consulting independently, and operations management at IBM. She received a B.S. in Mathematics & Systems Analysis from Taylor University, an M.S. in Industrial & Systems Engineering from North Carolina State University, and a Ph.D. in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech.
