Mario C. Vélez-Gallego

Mario C. Vélez-Gallego is a Full Professor and the Department Head of the Department of Production Engineering at EAFIT University in Medellin, Colombia. He holds a B.S. in Production Engineering from EAFIT University (1997), a M.S. from the Georgia Institute of Technology (2005), and a Ph.D from Florida International University (2009) in Industrial and Systems Engineering. His research areas focus on applying operations research tools for solving complex problems that arise when planning and scheduling production, transportation and warehousing operations. Dr. Vélez-Gallego received a Fulbright Visiting Scholar award in 2015, and was invited by the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering of Auburn University as Visiting Professor in 2018.
