REIMBURSEMENT SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE!!
If selected as a scholarship recipient, $500.00 would be awarded to your department/agency for each pair of candidates that apply. Scholarships will only be awarded in pairs - NO EXCEPTIONS. Scholarship reimbursement checks will only be awarded if candidates complete all course requirements to receive a Certificate of Completion. Checks will be mailed to the candidate's department, the week following Fire School.
Scholarship Awards will be prioritized as follows:
1st - Volunteer Departments
2nd - Departments with less than 6 paid firefighters
3rd - Departments with less than 20 firefighters and have had a significant reduction in their training budget
4th - Other departments that can justify training needs that cannot be met with their internal budget
All Scholarship requests must contain:
Department Name
Address with city
Number of paid firefighters
Contact phone number
Chief's name and contact number
Whether or not your department has APS as it's electrical service provider
The application must indicate how many individuals you wish to send (2 per scholarship)
Requests cannot be processed without the above information

Arizona Firefighters Fund
The Arizona Firefighters Fund through the Arizona Community Foundation was founded in 2012 solely for the purpose of providing scholarships to the annual Arizona Fire School. WIth generous donations from The Kemper and Ethyl Marley Foundation, Arizona Public Serivce (APS), State Forester Jeff Whitney and funding from the Arizona State Legislature we have been able to provide over 1200 rural firefighters the chance to attend Fire School.
Individuals, companies and organizations may make tax-deductible contributions on-line using the link below or if you prefer you may mail a check made payable to ACF, with a notation of FIREAZ in the memo section.
