Latoya Townsend-Nugent is a Board-Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of oncology nursing experience. Her humble nursing career began as a nurse’s assistant in the early 2000s, after which she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mount Saint Mary College in 2007. She was hired at New York Presbyterian Hospital, where she worked as a staff nurse on the Medical Surgical Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant units for nine years. While working, she obtained a Master of Science in Nursing from Molloy College in 2012 and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Molloy College in 2020.
Dr. Townsend-Nugent is currently employed at Montefiore Medical Center, where she primarily works in the outpatient setting of the Department of Medical Oncology /Hematology and Division of Bone Marrow Transplantation. She is the clinical lead for the cancer survivorship program committee at Montefiore Medical Center and an active member of several professional organizations, including the Oncology Nursing Society, American Nurses Association, and the Jamaica Nurses Group of New York.
Dr. Townsend-Nugent enjoys weekend getaways with her husband Neville and their two daughters, Abigail and Alexigail.
