COVID Health & Safety Measures

COVID Health & Safety Measures

AGPA is looking forward to getting back together in person for AGPA Connect 2023 in NYC. The wellbeing of our attendees and staff is of utmost importance to us. We are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment by closely monitoring the COVID situation. AGPA follows the public health guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the city of New York to ensure we meet health and safety protocols.

Shared Responsibility - We Are One Group

Let's work together to ensure a safe and successful AGPA Connect! By attending AGPA's annual meeting in person, participants accept the shared responsibility to do their part and act in the best interests of their health, the health of other attendees, and the communities to which they will return to after AGPA Connect.
Handwashing

Regularly wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Hand sanitizers will be available throughout the venue.

Wearing a Mask

We ask that all attendees respect each other's personal choice of wearing a mask. If you are traveling, please check the CDC website for mask requirements.

Self-Monitoring

We encourage attendees to take a COVID test before traveling to AGPA Connect. Do not travel if the test is positive. During the event, quarantine immediately if you feel sick or display cold symptoms and alert the AGPA staff via phone or email.

Vaccination

Proof of vaccination is not required for AGPA Connect attendance. However, all attendees are encouraged to be up-to-date with their COVID vaccinations. If you are traveling, please check the CDC website for vaccination requirements.

AGPA Taking Care of You

AGPA Staff will be implementing the following safety measures*:

  • Smaller Groups: The attendance capacity for the Two-Day Institute groups (March 7 & 8) has been reduced to minimize the risk of exposure.
  • Extra Space: For large events such as the Special Institutes and the Plenary presentations, additional spacing will be allocated between seating.
  • Masks & Hand Sanitizers: Disposable masks and small bottles of hand sanitizers will be available at the registration desk.

*Additional measures are being considered as the logistics of the annual meeting are determined. Please stay tuned for more updates.

COVID-Related Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What is the hotel doing to keep us safe?
A: AGPA is working closely with the hotel staff to ensure your health and safety during AGPA Connect. Visit the hotel website here to read about what to expect during your stay at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel.

Q: What if I have to cancel my registration due do COVID?
A: Our refund policy states that cancellations must be submitted in writing to info@agpa.org by Monday, February 6, 2023, and will be subject to a $50 service charge. No refunds are issued after February 6 without a viable reason. Following February 6th, cancellation requests can be submitted with proof of positive COVID test to info@agpa.org and will be reviewed by AGPA’s Executive Committee after AGPA Connect.

Q: Can I attend AGPA Connect online instead of in-person?
A: A very limited virtual program will be offered during AGPA Connect 2023. This program is currently being developed and will be announced shortly.

Q: Will AGPA Connect 2023 be hybrid?
A: A truly hybrid format allows presenters and attendees to participate in the same events both in-person and online. Unfortunately, this is beyond the capabilities of AGPA at this time due to the extensive additional costs and the staffing it would entail. There will be an in-person program and a separate virtual program held on Zoom during the AGPA Connect week. Please stay tuned for more information coming soon.
