Planning is now in full swing for the Tammy Z Memorial, the golf outing for team members and partners of Rocket Companies, which includes Rocket Mortgage, Amrock, Rocket Pro TPO and Rocket Central, just to name a few!
The Tammy Z Memorial honors our former CFO, Tammy Zionkowski, who passed away in 2005 after a six year battle with breast cancer. She was diagnosed in 1999, and shortly after, underwent a mastectomy and chemotherapy. Only Tammy could find the good in a disease as dreadful as breast cancer. "Cancer has made me a better wife, mother, and friend", she once told friends.
In remembrance of her good cheer, quiet determination, thoughtfulness and warmth, we were inspired to launch the Tammy Z Memorial. Our annual outing supports cancer research and cost of living expenses for those undergoing breast cancer treatment and continues to honor her legacy. Since its inception in 2005, the Tammy Z Memorial has raised more than $1.5 million to support cancer-research and treatment nonprofit organizations.
This year, the outing will be offered on three consecutive days to get partners and golfers off the waiting list and onto the course! We’re looking forward to golf (4-person best ball scramble), food and fun at the beautiful Fox Hills Golf Course in Plymouth, Michigan.
Last year, the Tammy Z Memorial Golf Outing raised more than $170,000. We can't wait to see what we can do this year with your help.

The Moon Shots Program
The University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center's breast cancer program brings together clinicians, researchers, geneticists and social scientists to help them develop new treatments (such as less-invasive surgery). Their program is also investigating new agents (such as hormonal and immunotherapy) to prevent recurrence.
Inspired by America’s drive a generation ago to put a man on the moon, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center has launched an ambitious and comprehensive action plan, called the Moon Shots Program®, to make a giant leap for patients – to rapidly and dramatically reduce mortality and suffering in several major cancers.
The Moon Shots Program® tackles cancer in three ways: innovation, scale and collaboration. These are methods which work stronger together. MD Anderson has one of the largest patient bases and uses 10 research platforms to find patterns, evaluate treatments and predict outcomes. They work for results — preventive education, first-of-a-kind clinical trials and personalized surgeries are just a few.
The Moon Shots Program brings experts together in exciting and effective ways. When we invite participation and apply interdisciplinary learnings and tools, we get even closer to ending cancer.
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is located in Houston, Texas.
A breast cancer diagnosis can destroy the financial health and well-being of the patient and their family. While in active treatment, many patients are unable to work and experience a loss of income that can result in catastrophic financial losses and the need to rebuild financial health.
The Pink Fund is a non-profit breast cancer organization that provides 90-day non-medical cost-of-living expenses to breast cancer patients in active treatment, so they can focus on healing, raising their families, and returning to the workplace.
In doing this they decrease stress levels and improve surviorship outcomes.
The Pink Fund is located in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
