OVERVIEW

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), a condition in which excess fat is stored in the liver, is a major cause of liver disease worldwide. It affects about one quarter of the global adult population, and is expected to become the leading cause of liver-related mortality in the coming decades. Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is the most serious form of NAFLD in which inflammation leads to progressive fibrosis and ultimately cirrhosis. Therefore, this makes it imperative to identify patients at risk of NASH and initiate effective treatment plans early in the disease process. Join our panel of top experts in this CME-certified symposium to learn more about current guideline recommendations to identify and diagnose patients at risk of developing NASH, how to assess the risk of NASH progression and liver-related events, as well as recommendations for current and emerging therapies to effectively manage these patients.
