Overview

Health disparities and issues of healthcare equity inspire both clinical concerns and research projects. The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Healthcare Equity Symposium will allow colleagues doing healthcare equity research to connect and learn from one another. Keynote topics for this event will engage topics of community-engaged research and ethics of transgender care.

Learning Objectives

After participating in this course, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the gaps in care for transgender health
  • Identify the resources needed and best practices for large population studies
  • Recall the foundational overview of Department of Medicine healthcare equity and DEI scholarly activity

Parking

For Internal URMC Attendees:  

  • Anyone with a current University of Rochester parking permit must park in their normally assigned lot.
  • The Institute for Innovative Education will not be responsible for any parking tickets received for parking in a non-assigned lot.

For External/Non-URMC Attendees:

  • Limited parking spaces are available in the MRB Parking Lot (adjacent to the entrance to the School of Medicine and Dentistry
  • When MRB Parking Lot is filled to capacity, attendees will be directed to park in the Strong Memorial Hospital Parking Garage located on Elmwood Avenue.  Please see the map for directions on how to get from the Hospital Parking Garage to the Registration Desk.
