About theCompetition
The UConn School of Business Office of External & Alumni Engagement is excited to announce the return of our global alumni virtual case competition. You may be familiar with case competitions or case study analyses from your days as a student and now we're offering a virtual competition specifically geared towards our UConn alumni.
Use your UConn degree as a foundation and combine it with the knowledge you’ve gained from real-life work experience to tackle a case for Make-A-Wish— a nonprofit in Trumbull, CT.
You will have the unique opportunity to meet, and work alongside, fellow alumni from all over the world with diverse backgrounds. Your range of experience and collective husky spirit will make for an exciting competition and generate helpful ideas to benefit our CT community. Open to all UConn alums!
Alum can participate as a team (build your own), free agent (be placed on a team), or compete individually (limited spots available).
*awarded in the form of a gift card to Barnes & Noble (UConn's Bookstore, Apparel & Spirit Shop)
What is a Case Competition?
An academic competition where you have the opportunity to step into the role of a consultant and help a company or non-profit tackle business and organizational challenges. Each team will develop a strategy to address the key issues of the case and present them to a team of judges. The team that presents the best solution wins the competition. Prior experience in consulting not required!
History
2022 Non-Profit: Connect-Us, Bridgeport, CT
Winning Team: The Pioneers Max Rasmussen, Kevin Fitzgerald & Namrata Mazumder Media | Case | Winning Presentation
What to Expect
You and your team will be working to provide actionable guidance to a Connecticut non-profit. At the end of the competition, a successful team will have provided the non-profit with an implementable strategy based on the questions outlined in the given case. How much time your team commits to crafting a solution is up to you. Remember- whether you win or lose, even a piece of your strategy has the chance to help a member of the community, so make it count!
