In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by the Postgraduate Institute for Medicine and Review Education Group.  Postgraduate Institute for Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and The Council on Optometric Practitioner Education (COPE) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 

 

Target Statement

This activity is intended for optometrists who provide primary care optometry services, including but not limited to medical optometric services.

Educational Objectives
After completing is activity, the participant should be better able to:

  1. Screen, diagnose and utilize the latest technologies in glaucoma.
  2. Evaluate glaucomatous damage and progression using diverse tools and imaging devices, including OCT.
  3. Understand how myopia increases the risk for developing glaucoma.
  4. Consider the evidence on a full range of glaucoma therapies— from nutrition to ophthalmic drops and new delivery devices.
  5. Discuss key features and clinical evidence for glaucoma procedures, including laser treatments and MIGS.
