Mindfulness has become so trendy that it’s nearly impossible to escape. There are apps, Netflix documentaries, books, and resources everywhere you look. But does it really do anything? What’s the point?
Practicing mindfulness has been shown to reduce stress, increase immune function, improve cardiovascular health and increase self-compassion. It can even boost resilience. All of that sounds wonderful, but how do you do it? And what is mindfulness, anyway?
Join LLS Illinois and Stephanie Brenner, LCSW, as we explore what mindfulness is, and what it’s not. (It’s not all sitting in silence and trying to empty your mind of all thoughts, we promise.) Learn realistic ways to incorporate mindfulness into your everyday life, even when your everyday life is completely turned upside down.
