Program Details

Please join LLS for a free virtual education program for patients and their families.
In order to overcome the barriers to accessing clinical trials in underserved communities in the Midwest, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) developed its Influential Medicine Providing Access to Clinical Trials (IMPACT) grant program.  Participants will hear from Dr. Nowakowski, the principal investigator for the LLS IMPACT Program at Mayo Clinic. Neena Kennedy is a Clinical Trial Nurse Navigator for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). She is part of a team of specially trained nurses focused on educating and assisting patients with hematological malignancies to learn more about and find clinical trials that are appropriate for them.

Participants will also learn:

  • How to gather information to help you make treatment decisions
  • Questions to ask about the benefits and risks of any treatment
  • The basics of clinical trials as well as myths about clinical trials
  • How to find clinical trials and how LLS can help
  • Special considerations to think about when considering a clinical trial
  • About the resources available in their community and those provided by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

We encourage you to invite your caregiver and family members.
