Grzegorz (Greg) Nowakowski, M.D., is a consultant and a Professor of Oncology and Medicine, Division of Hematology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he also serves as the Chair of Education and Advanced Hematology Fellowship Program Director.
Dr. Nowakowski serves as a principal investigator of multiple investigator-initiated, industry sponsored and cooperative group clinical trials (ECOG, Alliance). He is member of ECOG Lymphoma Core Committee and co-chairs the Lymphoma Committee in the Academic and Community Cancer Research United (ACCRU). He is a PI of Mayo Clinic Lymphoma Leukemia Society Impact Program and investigator in the University of Iowa/Mayo Clinic Lymphoma SPORE and a member of Board of Directors of International Extranodal Lymphoma Study Group (IELSG).
Dr. Nowakowski is an internationally regionalized leader in cancer therapy development, innovation of clinical trials development process and conduct, and an advocate for improving access to clinical trials. He currently chairs American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Research Community Forum and is a vice-chair of American Society of Hematology Clinical Trial Innovation Subcommittee. Dr. Nowakowski serves on ASCO Cancer Research Committee and the Steering Committee of ASCO & ACCC Collaboration to Increase Participation of Racial and Ethnic Minority Populations in Cancer Treatment Trials as well as ASCO Post-COVID19 Road to Recovery Taskforce. Dr. Nowakowski leads newly formed ASCO Clinical Trial Access and Participation Taskforce. Dr. Nowakowski has served as Voting Member of the Oncology Drugs Advisory Committee (ODAC) to Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Dr. Nowakowski received his MD from the Medical University of Warsaw, Poland. He completed his internal medicine residency at Yale University Medical School - Norwalk Hospital, Norwalk, Connecticut and his fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. Dr Nowakowski joined the Mayo Clinic Lymphoma Group in 2006 as a Mayo Foundation Scholar. He is an alumnus of the American Society of Hematology (ASH) Clinical Research Training Institute and American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Leadership Development Program. Dr. Nowakowski’s research focuses on the molecular classification and biology of lymphoproliferative disorders, new approaches to clinical trial design and novel therapies for lymphoma and hematological disorders. He has authored over 170 articles and numerous book chapters.
Neena Kennedy is a Clinical Trial Nurse Navigator for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). She is part of a team of specially trained nurses focusing on educating and assisting patients with hematological malignancies navigate and find appropriate clinical trials. Prior to joining the LLS, Ms. Kennedy was a Clinical Research Nurse at the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center in Duarte, California. In her role at City of Hope, she managed a portfolio of clinical trials focused on immunotherapy and novel treatments and cared directly for patients with blood cancers participating on clinical trials.
