Expectations

Texas Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) and Texas State Technical College (TSTC) have partnered together to develop the Engineering Bachelor’s+ Program.

The Bachelor's+ Program expectations document may be downloaded and reviewed here.

If a student withdraws/cancels/drops on or after the first day classes start, the student may receive 3 Q-Drops. Even though the program is offered as professional development through TEES, the students are enrolled as a student at TSTC, a state school.

Program Concept:
Students to spend nine weeks in the summer obtaining applied skills in a variety of hands-on, course offerings from TSTC available across the state of Texas. Obtaining the hands-on skills, in turn, may help Texas A&M Engineering students to not only gain knowledge of a new skill, but also to gain a competitive advantage in today’s job market while finishing their undergraduate degree at Texas A&M.

Students are expected to complete three courses specific to student's chosen Bachelor's+ Program (9 semester hours) in nine weeks and pass all three courses.

Bachelor's+ Programs students may choose from:

  • Architectural/Mechanical Drafting (online option available)
  • Cybersecurity (online option available)
  • Basic Electromechanical Automation, PLC
  • Integrated Manufacturing Processes
  • Precision Machining
  • Process Operations
  • Welding-Multiple Processes

(Each program consists of three courses, nine semester hours.)

High Impact Qualification
The some of Bachelor’s+ Program qualify for ENGR[x] requirement each student must obtain to graduate.

ENGR[x] is a zero-credit-hour required program, populated with approved engineering-centric activities that meet the criteria of high impact learning experiences. Having the some of the Bachelor’s+ Programs qualified for the ENGR[x] allows students to use the program to help meet a requirement for their degree.

Approved programs:

  • Architectural/Mechanical Drafting (online option available)
  • Cybersecurity (online option available)
  • Basic Electromechanical Automation, PLC
  • Welding-Multiple Processes

Students Obtain
Upon completing and gaining hand-on experience from the Bachelor’s+ Program, students receive:

  • TEES Professional Development Certificate of Completion
  • TSTC Course Transcripts
  • TSTC Occupational Skills Award Certificate (OSA)
(The OSA at TSTC helps students learn skills quickly in order to start a career.)
