Abstract Submission

Abstracts submission has now closed for the 2022 Surgical Congress being held in Liverpool from 3rd to 5th May 2022.The theme of the Congress is Reset & Recharge.

Short Papers, Talking Posters and ePosters

There will be short paper parallel sessions each day of the Congress, as well as a display of electronic posters on plasma screens that will be on display throughout the Congress within the exhibition area. In addition, the top scoring ePosters will have the opportunity to give a short presentation during the Talking Poster sessions that will take place each day during the lunch break.

All presenting authors are responsible for registration, travel and accommodation costs.

Abstracts will be compiled and made available to participants via the Congress app, and published as a BJS suppliment on the BJS website post congress.

All authors who have abstracts accepted for the Congress are encouraged to submit a manuscript for consideration in the BJS - more information.

If your abstract has been accepted as

Short Paper Presentation - This is an oral presentation within a Short Paper Session during the Congress, consisting of a 3 minute presentation and 2 minutes for questions. No ePoster required.

Talking Poster - These will take place during the lunch breaks not Congress Sessions consisting of a 2 minute presentation and 1 minute for questions. No PowerPoint slides required only an ePoster.

ePoster - No PowerPoint slides required only an ePoster, these will be on display throughout the Congress and online.

IMPORTANT!

Submission and acceptance of an abstract constitutes a formal commitment by a minimum of one named author to present the abstract in the allocated session at the Congress at the time decided upon by the Scientific Committee, or in the case of an ePoster display, to register for and be present for a minimum of one day of the Congress. Any changes in the presenting author should be communicated in advance via email to, Carol McNair. Failure to present the abstract for other than well founded reasons will lead to the author and their supervisor receiving a letter outlining the default, and the abstract will not be published.
