Policing Specific Ofsted Inspection Support

OVERVIEW

Preparing for an Ofsted inspection as an employer provider of apprenticeships for the police workforce

The police service is in the midst of implementing its Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship, working in collaboration with higher education institutes to bring academic rigour and degree level accreditation to the initial learning that police constables receive on joining the service.
The advent of Ofsted inspections of degree level apprenticeships has implications for the recruitment plans of the service, particularly during the current unprecedented period, when there is an expected increase in the workforce of 20,000 officers over a three-year period.

Most of the forces in England and Wales have never been subjected to Ofsted inspection before, although a small number have been inspected as the main provider for lower level apprenticeships.
Forces need to understand what they need to do to influence a successful outcome for the inspection of their apprenticeships, both as part of the delivery team of the apprenticeship in association with Higher Education Institutions and as the employer of the apprentices themselves.

This webinar will help you to understand how you will be inspected by Ofsted and your role and responsibilities in any future Ofsted inspection of your apprentices.

Objectives

This webinar will help delegates to understand:

  • Some basic facts about Ofsted inspections.
  • How an Ofsted New Provider Monitoring Visit works.
  • What the Education Inspection Framework means for you and what they will focus on most during your inspection.
  • What Ofsted looks for in great off-the-job training and progress reviews.
  • The questions you might get asked as a trainer.
